Here are the criteria for being recognized as independent at Bituah Leumi and subject to contributions (only one is required):
- Work in the business for at least 20 hours a week.
- The monthly benefit is a minimum of 5,935 shekels, regardless of the number of hours worked.
- Work in the business for at least 12 hours a week and have a minimum monthly income of 1,781 shekels.
So we see that a very short list of independents does not have to contribute to the Bitouah Leoumi.
