The holiday season is approaching and you'd like to make a donation to Israel?
In 2015, we counted over 35,000 registered associations in Israel. Each association is different, and works to achieve its own objectives, such as:- Financial assistance for those in need.
- Collecting food and clothing for the needy.
- Building a synagogue.
- The creation of a French-speaking school.
- etc...
How do I get 35% back from my donations in Israel ?
Being generous in Israel can save you money on your taxes (the equivalent of CERFA 11580 in France). For example, if you are in the habit of donating money to associations (Synagogues, donations for the poor, etc.), you can reclaim 35% from the sums paid, provided of course that you had a tax liability during the period concerned. To do this, you'll need to submit a "Demande de récupération d'Impôts", or in other words a "בקשה להחזר מס".Recover your money up to 7 years in the past
The application to reclaim 35% of your donations (Bakachat Ehzer Mas - Tax Reclaim Application) can be filed retroactively for 7 years! Now you understand why, for example, it's important to keep the receipts given to you by the Shamash (the person in charge of the synagogue) on Friday evening. What are the conditions for getting your money back?
To qualify for a tax refund for a given period, you must meet these 3 conditions:- Have paid taxes during this period.
- The minimum total donation is 190 Shekels.
- The association to which you made your donations in Israel must benefit from Article 46.
