Get your new business off the ground

Choose your company status

There are two forms of business in Israel:
  • Sole proprietorship - This is the simplest way to set up a business; it offers relatively low start-up costs and limited legislative constraints, but the owner is fully responsible for all debts and obligations.
  • Limited liability company(Hevra Baam - חברה בע "מ) - Independent legal entity, which means tighter regulation and higher start-up costs; however, shareholders have limited liability for the company's debts and obligations.

Choose your company name

It can be harder than you think: your company name needs to be precise, eye-catching and, above all, available. In some cases, finding the right company name is practically a science - there are even companies that specialize in this art. Your company name may already be taken, so try to find more than one. A search is normally carried out when you register your company (see below). Finding an original name can be a headache... or child's play (sometimes it's as simple as adding your initials or changing the words slightly). If you intend to operate as a self-employed person under your own name (for example, as a consultant), we recommend that you open another bank account, to be used solely for Ossek Mourchei.

Choosing professionals

Even if you do a lot of the work yourself, you absolutely must have the advice and experience of a chartered accountant (business plan, taxes and tax issues), lawyer or notary (incorporation or partnership agreement), to name but a few.

Register your company (and obtain a siret number - ח.פ)

The registration process varies according to the status you have chosen for your business (self-employed or company). Our firm offers support and advice on opening a business, whether as a self-employed person or as a company. Consult our team of experts to find out which status will be most advantageous for you.

If you're renting premises, you'll need to sign a commercial lease. Don't forget to obtain the necessary financing before signing a lease. You'll find more details on financing in step 4. You may also wish to consult your lawyer.

Business gas pedal

Depending on your sector and specialty, business incubators in Israel may offer you space under one roof, as well as access to meeting rooms, investors and other specialists. You'll need to take out insurance to protect your investments. Most banks will suggest an insurance broker, but it's best to compare before you buy[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row].
